  1. General Troubleshooting Tips

    The best way to determine whether a problem is with the toner cartridge or the laser printer is to replace the toner cartridge. It is advised to always have a spare toner cartridge available should this problem occur. The toner cartridge can be replaced or the same toner cartridge can be inserted into another printer to determine if the same problem occurs. If so, contact Reflexion.

  2. Never Shake a Toner Cartridge

    Many people shake toner cartridges when they get the LOW TONER message. Some also shake the toner out of frustration when they're having a print image problem. To extend the toner's life after the LOW TONER message appears, simply rock the toner gently at a 40 degree angle, pat it gently on top, and replace in the machine. Shaking almost never fixes an image problem and is more likely to cause toner to spill.

  3. Horizontal/Vertical White Lines

    Check the print head nozzles and make sure they are not clogged. Try running the print head cleaning utility 3-4 times before printing again (see your printer's operating manual for directions).

  4. Printout is faint

    Make sure the paper you are using is loaded correctly and is not old or damaged. Some specialty papers are designed for only one side to be printed on.

  5. Print is blurry or smeared

    Check the paper you are using. The thickness must meet the manufacturer's specifications. Make sure the paper is not wet or damp. If either it these is true, replace the paper. Make sure the cartridge's nozzles are not clogged. Running the print head cleaning utility 3-4 times before printing again will often solve the problem (see your printer's operating manual for directions).

  6. Colors are incorrect

    If the printed colors appear to be incorrect, run your printer's print head cleaning utility 3-4 times (see your printer's operating manual for directions). If you run the print head cleaning utility and the colors are still incorrect the cartridge is defective. Please contact us for a free replacement.
